BARANOVICHI v VITEBSK

For those not in the know up until the Fourth Round the Belarusian Cup is seeded with the lower rated sides given home advantage.

I would say one of the games of the round is the reformed DNEPR Mogilev (currently playing in the Second League) who entertain Premier League Isloch as well as Baranovichi v Vitebsk and Ostrovets v FC Minsk.

In DNEPR's starting XI in their 0-6 victory over Bumprom at the weekend were

1) Goalkeeper Vladimir Zhurov, 29, who has spent most his career in the Premier with the former DNEPR Mogilev club as well as Vitebsk, Naftan and Neman Grodno.

2) Defender Anton Shepelev who also spent time with DNEPR when they were a Premier League side.

3) Defender Oleg Chmyrikov played for DNEPR in the 2018 Premier League season and has played for Slutsk and Gomel previously. He has caps for the Belarus u19 and u17 sides back in 2013 and 2014.

4) 18 year old defender Mikhail Chernyavskiy is in his first season with the club.

5) 26 year old midfielder Evgeni Elezarenko is well experienced at Premier League level with Naftan, Slutsk, Gomel, Shakhtyor and Tarpeda Minsk. He has 138 appearances in the top tier and was a runner up whilst with Shakhtyor in 2016.

6) Maksim Rybakov is another former DNEPR player whilst they were a Premier League side. He was with Belshina last season but only played a handful of games.

7) Maksim Khodenkov spent most of his time with Lida in the First League. Was with DNEPR in 2015 when they played in the First League.

8) Artem Antonov is a 20 year old midfielder who is in his first season with DNEPR.

9) Centre Forward Kirill Sidorenko was with Vitebsk in the 2016 Premier League season. He has been with Belshina for the past two seasons.

10) Krasimir Kapov is in his first season with the club.

11) Kirill Gusev was with Dnyapro Mogilev (a short lived team founded in early 2019 followed the merger of DNEPR and Luch Minsk - they finished in 14th place of the Premier League and were beaten by Rukh in the play-off on penalty kicks. They were disolved following relegation with DNEPR re-forming in the second league) in the Premier League last season and previously played for DNEPR in the 2018 season.

Could Igor Chumachenko's side spring a surprise? He was a player with 'DNEPR Transmash Mogilev' when they won the Premier League in 1998. He spent time as Reserve Coach at BATE between 2014 to 2019.

There could be a fourth Second League side in the draw as the game between Meliorator Zhitovcihi and Lida (which ended 1-2 after extra time) is subject to an appeal as Lida only fielded only seven Belarusian players in their starting XI - At this stage of the competition I believe clubs must field eight players from Belarus.

Although you have to go back to the 2012/13 season for the last time a third tier team or below got through to the round of 16 when "Beltransgaz Slonim" (who merged with Kommunalnik Slonim to form FC Slonim now Slonim-2017 in 2013) beat Livadiya-Yuni Dzerzhinsk 2-3, Granit Mikashevichi 4-1 before losing to Shakhtyor Soligorsk 3-0.
