WINDSOR & ETON v WINDSOR FC - HUGE LOCAL DERBY ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY

It's all shaping up nicely for a huge local derby game at Stag Meadow next Bank Holiday Monday morning with a kick off of 11.30am.

The new Windsor & Eton FC were formed last summer by former Windsor FC Manager Mark Cooper and Windsor Youth FC with the club securing a 25 year lease on the ground from the Crown Estate.

In their first season they finished in third place of the Step Seven Thames Valley Premier League Premier Division and thus gained promotion to The Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Division One which is where Windsor FC are now playing following their relegation from the Premier Division North in the 22/23 campaign. Last season they finished in 18th (of 22) position and moved from Stag Meadow to ground share with Beaconsfield Town.

They were formed in 2011 following the demise of the original Windsor & Eton who were playing in the Southern League Premier Division but resigned due to financial difficulties.

This season both clubs have made good starts with Windsor FC under the new management of former Binfield, Hayes & Yeading United and Bedfont & Feltham boss Garry Haylock. They currently have a record of three wins, one draw and one defeats in their five games played.

Windsor & Eton with former Eversley & California boss Matt Angell as Manager have an impressive record of five wins and only one defeat - they sit top of the early league table.

Prior to Monday's big occasion The Royalists travel to Yatleley United on Saturday and Windsor FC have a home game against newly promoted PFC Victoria London under the lights at Holloways Park on Friday evening.

W&E's home crowds so far have been 232 (v PFC Victoria) and 291 (v Chalfont St Peter) - I think they'll be many more fans at Stag Meadow on Monday Morning.
