FACTS AND STATS ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The First Round involves some clubs from the Second League and six non-league clubs paired with lower league clubs having a home advantage in a single-legged tie. Six non-league clubs entered the competition - They are the winners of the six regional (Grodno, Minsk, Brest, Gomel, Vitebsk and Mogilev) cups - Montazhink Mozyr and PK Kremo Kvasovka both got through the the second round by beating Stanles Pinsk and Engertyk BGATU-Minsk of the then Second League. They were both drawn at home to teams from the First League in the second round - Motazhink lost to Naftan (0-1) in front of 240 people and PK Kremo lost to Slonim-2017 (0-2) in front of 50 people.

In the second round the rest of the second league sides join along with the first league sides with the lower ranked side gaining home advantage in ties still played over one leg. The Premier League sides join in Round three with the games still played over one leg with the lower ranked team still gaining home advantage.

From the fourth round onwards there is no seedings or home advantage with games played over two legs.

Oshmyany, Arsenal Dzerzhinsk and Kletsk had the best run of the Second League sides before being knocked out at the third round stage by Engertyk-BGU, Isloch and Torpedo Minsk.

Lokomotiv Gomel and Naftan had the best run of the first league sides reaching the third round only to be knocked out by Torpedo Belaz-Zhodino and Shakhtyor Solirgorsk.

Vladislav Vasiliev scored Dynamo Brest's first goal of the competition in their local derby win against Rukh Brest (then in the first league) on Saturday 27th July. He now plays for Rukh Brest having transferred to the promoted team in the pre-season.

COULD PAVEL NYAKHAYCHYK COME BACK TO SCORE AGAINST HIS OLD SIDE WHO HE HAS ALREADY SCORED FOR IN THE 2019/20 CUP?

The most interesting fact of the 2019/200 Belarusian Cup concerns BATE Borisov's 31 year old midiflder Pavel Nyakhaychyk who joined them during the Belarusian transfer winter transfer window  from Dynamo Brest. He played for Dynamo in the early rounds and scored in their victory over FC Minsk before playing for BATE in their games against Dynamo Minsk and Slavia Mozyr - He scored against Dynamo Minsk.  It seems the 'cup-tied' ruling is not used in Belarus and he will be eligible to play in the final. He started his career with BATE and this is his third spell with them - He was with Dynamo between 2017 to 2019 and scored in the 2018 Cup Final against BATE which Dynamo won 3-2.

Both teams are in the final despite losing games in their semi-final ties. BATE lost 1-0 away to Slavia Mozyr in their first leg before winning 2-0 in the second leg to go through 2-1 on aggregate.

Dynamo were cruising their semi-final winning the home 1st leg 2-0 and were a further two goals in front in the away 2nd leg at half time only for Shakhtyor to go goal crazy in the second half scoring four times from 58 minutes to 74 minutes - Dynamo held on for the final score to be 4-4 and went through on away goals.

The final is scheduled for a 3pm UK time kick off on Sunday at Dynamo Stadium in Minsk. If you can't wait that long there is a dress rehearsal tomorrow evening (Wednesday) as Dynamo Brest host BATE in a Premier League game with the kick off being 5pm.

If you fancy a bet on the Cup Final bet365.com currently make BATE favourites at 10/11 with Dynamo rated at 16/5 - If you think it'll be all square that's currently rated at 9/4.

In tomorrow's league game Dynamo are 5/2 with BATE at 21/20 and a draw at 12/5.

The form book indicates BATE should win both games but you just never know with the magic of the cup!
