Stanway Rovers currently lead the Essex Senior League but it's second placed Walthamstow and fourth placed Saffron Walden Town who look best placed due to their games in hand. The Stows only defeat so far in the league was against Saffron Walden Town who won 1-2 at Wadham Lodge in September.

Nobdoy would of expected Athletic Newham and White Ensign who were promoted from Step Six last season to be doing so well so far - they have surprised many people with their results. Little Oakley, who are the other side promoted, are further down the league but nine points above the drop zone with the bottom three of Southend Manor, Sawbridgeworth Town and Sporting Bengal United looking in danger of being cut-adrift from the rest of the divisions.

Sporting Bengal United only positive results so far were a 2-1 home win over fellow struggler's Hoddesdon Town and a 2-2 draw at home to Sawbridgeworth Town on Saturday.

Sawbo have a decent 1-1 draw at home to Stansted, a 3-0 home win over Southend Manor and the aforementioned 2-2 draw.

Southend Manor's two wins have come against Sporting Bengal United and a 1-0 win over Clapton along with two draws against St Margaretsbury and Cockfosters.

Sporting Bengal United recently parted with their manager of 5 years Imrul Gazi who is quite rightly considered a club legend at the Mile End Stadium. Shipon Miah has taken over being assisted by new head coach Rui Costa as they look to turn around the fortunes of the East London club.

Southend Manor have also had a change in management with Ryan Gordon taking over at the end of Spetember.

Sawbridgeworth Town have also brought in former Burnham Ramblers and Basildon United boss Alex Salmon to work alongside Kieran Amos as joint managers at the end of September.
