Ira Jackson scored what could be a highly important goal for Folkestone Invicta yesterday at Worthing - The 87th minutes strike was the only goal of the game in the top of the table clash which was watched by a crowd of 1,410 people. It was Worthing's second defeat in a row which has pulled them back towards their title rivals from Kent.

Three games ago Hornchurch looked like they may well get involved at the top of the table but a defeat at Potters Bar Town and draws against Lewes and Merstham have put a real dent in their aspirations of finishing first in the table.

In the fight to avoid the drop to step four the bottom two placed sides in the division at the end of the season will go down with possibly the third bottom side also relegated - with non-league's reorganisation two of the third bottom sides across the four step three leagues will also go down rated on a points per game basis - If any reprieves are available then it's the teams on the PPG basis who will stay up.

As it stands at present across the four divisions the third bottom placed sides are Corinthian Casuals (0.81), Atherton Collieries (1.04), St Ives Town (0.66) and Walton Casuals (0.84).

Bishop's Stortford are without a win in nine league games and entertain Enfield Town on Tuesday evening with the visitors needing points in their push for the play-offs so it's set to be an entertaining game. On the same evening at Rookery Hill I would say it's a must win game for East Thurrock United if they want to keep up their hopes of a play-off place - they welcome third placed Carshalton Athletic to Essex.

Lewes lost five games in a row included a 1-6 home defeat to Cheshunt but then amazingly drew 0-0 at home to Hornchurch in midweek to pick a much needed but unexpected point - Could The Rooks get more points in their forthcoming midweek game against league leader's Worthing?  They then welcome Brightlingsea Regent to The Dripping Pan on Saturday in a huge game for both sides - Regent have another massive game on Tuesday evening when they travel to Bowers & Pitsea.

The other side currently in the drop-zone are Wingate and Finchley who are making a real fight of it with two wins and two draws in their last four games - they go to draw specialists Kingstonian on Wednesday evening before a really tough looking away game to title challenger's Folkestone Invicta. The K's have only lost five games all season which is the same amount as the top two - they have however drawn 13 of their 27 league games which amounts to 48.15%.
