It's been a tough start to the campaign for East Thurrock United who are in their third season at step two of the non-league ladder having finished in 13th and 15th so far. A positive for their fans will be their four defeats have been close ones losing 0-1, 1-2, 0-2 and 0-1 - They go to Gloucester City at the weekend who have one win and three defeats so far.

It looks to be two tough games for the teams with the worst defences so far as they both travel to Essex. Weston-Super-Mare and Hungerford Town who have both conceded 10 goals so far. The seagulls travel to the early table topper's Billericay Town who recorded a decent 0-3 win at Welling United in midweek with The Crusaders going to Concord Rangers who had an impressive 2-0 home win against Dartford.

The bookies rate Billericay at 4/11 and Concord at 3/4 for a win on Saturday with W-S-M and Hungerford outsiders at 15/2 and 37/10 the best odds currently available.

The relegated sides from last season Vanarama National division have made decent starts to their seasons. Woking won their opening three matches before losing 1-0 at Wealdstone in midweek with Torquay United winning two, drawing one and losing one of their four games played. What will concern fans of the Devon team will be the fact they have only scored three goals in those games. Liam Davis got the winner in their 1-0 win over Bath City and Ruairi Keating scored two in their 2-0 win over East Thurrock United.
