The race for the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division took another twist yesterday as Cockfosters beat Hertford Town 2-1 at Chalk Lane thanks to a goal in injury time through Jay Rolfe. It was Hertford Town's first defeat on the road in the league this season.

Elsewhere at Cotslandwick Jon Clements and Greg Shaw scored the goals in London Colney's 2-0 victory against Leighton Town.

Now with only 12 or 13 games to play along with an eleven point gap between first and second place it looks London Colney's title to lose now - I'm sure there will be a few more twists and turns I think.

London Colney's next league game comes next Saturday when they host Leverstock Green (10th), Hertford Town host Sun Sports (12th) on Tuesday evening before their eagerly anticipated local derby at St Margaretsbury (21st) next Saturday. 'Fosters are without a game until Tuesday 21st March when they host Sun Sports at Chalk Lane.

Biggleswade FC lead the race for the title in Division One with a comfortable seven point gap between themselves and local rival's Langford who have moved up into second place but who can be caught by both Baldock Town and Harpenden Town who have four games in hand over them.

Biggleswade have won their last two games 7-1 (v Hadley Wood & Wingate) and 8-0 (v Codicote) - they host Bedford (16th position) on Tuesday night before making the reverse journey to play Bedford at McMullen Park next Saturday.

Next Saturday sees a MASSIVE game take place at Forde Park as Langford host Baldock Town - Harpenden Town host Wodson Park (8th) on Tuesday and Buckingham Athletic (9th) on Saturday. Baldock Town have midweek trip on Wednesday to Southall (7th).

Current Forms shows Biggleswade FC have 13pts from the their last 18, Langford have 16pts, Baldock Town have 12pts and Harpenden have 10 pts. Baldock Town have lost their last two league games away at Hillingdon Borough and Harefield United.
