LOCAL CLUBS IN THE EMIRATES FA CUP


RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION 
It was a bad day at the office for a number of Ryman Premier Division clubs who joined the Emirates FA Cup at the First Qualifying Round stage yesterday. Five clubs crashed out of the competition with defeats to clubs from lower down the non-league pyramid with Grays Athletic suffering a 4-1 defeat to league leader's Leiston.

As reported by The Cold End yesterday Hadley FC are the only Spartan South Midlands League side left in this season's FA Cup competition. Biggleswade United, Harefield United, Sun Sports and Stotfold were all beaten yesterday. 


Waltham Forest by beating SSMFL Stotfold are now the only Essex Senior League club left. Sporting Bengal United lost 6-1 at Kings Langley and Sawbridgeworth Town lost 4-1 at Harrow Borough. 

Felixstowe & Walton United by beating Ryman Division One (North) Tilbury 2-1 are the only Thurlow Nunn League side left. Saffron Walden Town lost 5-0 at Chesham United and Stanway Rovers lost 0-1 at home to Barton Rovers. 

Colliers Wood United are the sole representative for the Combined Counties League thanks to their 1-0 victory over Eastbourne United. Guildford City, CD Hounslow United, Camberley Town, North Greenford United and Chertsey Town all went out of the Cup yesterday. 

It was mostly a good news day for locally based clubs in the Evo-Stik Southern League. Hitchin Town won 4-2 at home to Biggleswade United, Farnborough won 0-5 at Andover Town, Egham Town won 1-5 at Arundel, Cambridge City won 3-1 at home Flackwell Heath, Potters Bar Town won 0-3 at Chalfont St Peter, Chesham United won 5-0 at home to Saffron Walden Town, Hanwell Town won 1-0 against Enfield Town, Kings Langley comfortably beat Essex Senior League side Sporting Bengal United 6-1, Histon put their poor league form to one side by shocking Lowestoft Town at Crown Meadow in a 0-2 victory, Biggleswade Town won 0-1 at Maldon and Tiptree, Uxbridge won 2-0 at home Needham Market and Slough Town won 6-1 at home to Chipstead.
