RYMAN PREMIER - TOP TEN V TOP TEN TABLE

Just nine points separate current table topper's Dulwich Hamlet and Bognor Regis Town in tenth place in the Ryman Premier Division making the run in to the end of the season a really exciting one in prospect. Some fans will say that the results that win leagues are those against teams at the top of the division also challenging for the title and play-off places. Below we look at the current top ten v top ten table featuring only the games played between the current top 10 of the division to see which team has the best record.

TOP TEN v TOP TEN table

DULWICH HAMLET 8 4 3 1 18 10 +815 1.88
HAMPTON & RICHMOND 10 6 1 3 19 16 +3 19 1.90
TONBRIDGE ANGELS 7 3 3 1 10 4 +6 12 1.71
BILLERICAY TOWN 11 4 4 3 16 12 +4 16 1.45
LEISTON10 5 1 4 11 12 -1 16 1.60
ENFIELD TOWN 12 2 3 7 10 18 -8 9 0.75
KINGSTONIAN 11 2 4 5 11 21 -10 10 0.91
WINGATE & FINCHLEY 93 1 5 8 12 -4 10 1.11
EAST THURROCK UNITED 11 5 4 2 21 12 +9 19 1.73
BOGNOR REGIS TOWN 81 3 4 9 16 -7 6 0.75

There is no doubting the teams that are at the top of the table deserve to be there as they have the best Points Per Game (PPG) total at 1.88, 1.90 and 1.71 alongside ninth placed East Thurrock United on 1.73 who if they win their 3 games in hand they have over Dulwich Hamlet will pull level with them or even overtake them if the South London side lose or draw their games.

Enfield Town and Bognor Regis Town have the worst records with a PPG total of 0.75. The Towner's only victories have come against Wingate and Finchley at home and away. The Rocks only win was a 3-1 home victory over Billericay Town on Saturday 29th August.

What maybe a factor is the amount of games left versus the current top ten? - Enfield Town have only six to play compared to Tonbridge Angels who have eleven and Dulwich Hamlet & Bognor Regis Town who have ten. As an Enfield Town fan it would be great to start improving our form against the top teams on Saturday at Champion Hill in a very important game for both clubs.

There always seems to be goals between the current top ten as the only 0-0 draw so far was between Bognor Regis Town and Kingstonian on Tuesday 22nd September.

With their excellent record against the top teams and games in hand - Could East Thurrock United be involved in the title-race this season?
