RYMAN LEAGUE IN THE FA TROPHY UPDATE

It was miserable day for Enfield Town in the FA Trophy yesterday as Division One (North) side Thamesmead Town recorded a well deserved 0-2 victory at Donkey Lane. It continued Town's somewhat miserable record in the competition since playing first playing in it in 2005/06. It was the second time in as many seasons that Enfield Town (playing at Step 3) have been knocked out by a team playing in Step 4 - The club's who have knocked The Towner's out since 05/06 are listed in the above headline. Well done to The Mead and we wish them the best of luck in the third qualifying round. Enfield Town have never been beyond the second qualifying round!

Other Ryman League clubs through are Metropolitan Police (won 0-2 at Canvey Island), Dulwich Hamlet (2-0 at home to VCD Athletic), East Thurrock United (5-0 at home to Tiverton Town), Hampton & Richmond Borough (3-1 at home to AFC Sudbury), Corinthian Casuals (who recorded one of the shocks of the round by winning at Premier Division Leiston), Molesey (4-3 home winner's over Harlow Town), Bognor Regis Town (1-4 at Taunton Town), Thurrock (3-2 winners at home to Cheshunt), Tilbury (another great result in winning 4-2 against Royston Town) and Grays Athletic (0-2 winners at Waltham Abbey).

Midweek replays see Kingstonian v Dorchester Town, Hitchin Town v Haringey Borough and Herne Bay v Bury Town whose game ended 1-1 at Ram Meadow yesterday. Incredibely midfielder Craig Nuse scored the equaliser for the home side on 94 minutes which is even more amazing when you see he had donned the goalkeeper's gloves on 90 minutes following Neil O'Sullivan's red card for handling outside the box.
