AFC Hornchurch recorded what could end up being a crucial away win on Tuesday evening. There 0-2 victory over Cray Wanderers closed the gap to just three points between 2nd and 1st place. With just four points covering the current top three combined with the fact the 2nd and 3rd placed teams have games(s) in hand it's looking to be a very exciting season in the race for the title and play-offs. Also on Tuesday evening Bury Town became the last club to lose a game this season in Division One (North) when losing a home 1-3 to Heybridge Swifts who have recently re-appointed former boss Jody Brown. They are closley followed by Thamesmead Town, Thurrock and Harlow Town. The Hawks have dropped points in their last two league games in a 2-1 defeat to The Mead at Bayliss Avenue and a goal-less draw at home to Haringey Borough who are struggling towards the bottom of the table.

It's no surprise to read AFC Hornchurch have two of the top four league goal scorers playing for them - George Purcell (11) and David Knight (9) are joined by Andre McCollin (10) of Cray Wanderers and Harlow Town's goal machine Alex Read (9) at the top end of the race for the league's golden boot.

Both Thurrock and Harlow Town are the only sides still undefeated at home with Ship Lane currently a fortress for Mark Stimson's side as they have five wins from five league games played. Away from home there are two sides also without a defeat being Bury Town and AFC Sudbury. Only Witham Town and Soham Town Rangers have not picked up a win on the road.

Redbridge (currently in 22nd place) have leaked the most goals letting in a massive 47 goals in just the twelve league matches they have played - their matches include three times where they have conceded five and twice when they have let in six!

A tricky away trip for the league leaders to Scraley Road. As stated The Swifts recorded an excellent 1-3 win at Bury Town on Tuesday evening.

THURROCK v AFC SUDBURY
Sixth place v Third place. Five wins out of six v four wins out of six. Can AFC Sudbury be the first side to take points away from Ship Lane this season?

Monday 12th October
THAMESMEAD TOWN v CRAY WANDERERS
Another away trip for the current leaders - this time a little shorter but again tough to fifth placed Thamesmead Town.

Tuesday 13th October
HARINGEY BOROUGH v HARLOW TOWN
Borough have been finding their feet after a indifferent start to life at Step 4 of the the non-league ladder. After no wins in their opening nine matches they have drawn 0-0 at home to Cray Wanderers and away at Harlow Town also recording a 0-1 away win at Romford. Even more impressively they also drew 1-1 at Folkestone Invicta (who are setting the pace in Division One South with nine wins in eleven games) in the FA Trophy before winning the midweek replay 1-0 at Coles Park.Could they take more points off of The Hawks who need to keep winning to stay in touch with the rest of the teams at the top of the division. Tom Loizou's side need goal as they have only scored 9 in their 12 games played.

HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS v AFC SUDBURY
Another tough away game for the Suffolk side.

Saturday 17th October
CHESHUNT v THAMESMEAD TOWN
The Ambers are one of the in-form sides in the division with four wins, three draws and only one defeat in their last eight games. They have only lost once at home in their five games played scoring 10 and letting in just 3 goals.
