WILSON, GOODMAN, JOLLEY, HUNT, GREEN, GREEN AND TAIWO JOIN THE GATE


National League new boy's and Ryman Premier Division play-off winner's Margate have made a host of big signings in preparation for the new season. They will be up amongst the favourites for the title in The Cold End's opinion which in turn will spur most team's in the division on to look to put one over on them in the forthcoming campaign. It's certainly shaping up to be an interesting season for the Kent club. Here we have a run down on their new signings so far -

Thirty year old midfielder Soloman Taiwo joins from National League Premier side Dover Athletic. He is most well known for his time with Dagenham and Redbridge between 2007 to 2009 where he made over 50 appearances for the League Two side. This alerted Championship side Cardiff City who paid £250,000 for his services. He only played nine times for the Welsh side and was loaned back to The Daggers and Leyton Orient. He has since played for Bromley, Mansfield Town and Luton Town as well as Aldershot Town and Dover. He started his football career with Bromley in 2004 after playing in the Millwall youth team.

23 year old defender/midfielder Nathan Green joins after making 15 appearances for Dartford in the Conference Premier last season. He started the 2014/15 campaign with League Two side Dagenham and Redbridge after moving from Tonbridge Angels he had a very successful spell in 2013/14. He struggled to make an impact with The Daggers making only 7 appearances and was loaned out to St Albans City before joining Dartford in January.

Another former Dagger is midfielder Danny Green who joins from Maidenhead United where he was from 2013 to 2015.  The 24 year old started his career with Harlow Town in 2006 and was with D&R between  2010 to 2012 making only 11 appearances. He has also played for Bishops Stortford, Billericay Town, AFC Sudbury, St Albans City, Thurrock, Chelmsford City (loan), Boreham Wood (loan), Dover Athletic (loan) and Braintree Town (loan).

32 year old defender/midfielder David Hunt brings with him a wealth of experience. He has played over 300 games in the football league starting at Crystal Palace before moving to Leyton Orient, Northampton Town, Shrewsbury Town, Brentford, Crawley Town and Oxford United. He played for Barnet and Maidenhead United last season.

27 year old striker/wing man Christian Jolley was with Newport County, Forest Green Rovers and Grimsby Town last season. He was with AFC Wimbledon when they won promotion to the football league when current 'Gate manager Terry Brown was in charge.

21 year old defender Jake Goodman joins from football league side Millwall. He has been with the South London side since 2011 but did not make an appearance for The Lions. He has spent time on loan with Staines Town, AFC Wimbledon, Luton Town and Aldershot Town. He made 15 appearances for AFC Wimbledon last season.

Defender Glenn Wilson played 42 games for Conference Premier side Aldershot Town last season. He is most well known for his time with Crawley Town for whom he made 150 appearances between 2007 to 2012. He has also played for Rushden and Diamonds, Gateshead and Salisbury City. He started his career as a youth player with Crystal Palace between 1995 and 2004.
