"THREE SHOTS TWO GOALS" - LEISTON EARN VALUABLE AWAY WIN

The above is by no way a criticism as it's what the travelling Leiston fans sang after their second goal yesterday afternoon. Enfield Town could of been 3-0 up with chances falling to Bobby Devyne and Tyler Campbell but it was the away side who took the lead via a neat and skillful finish from John Sands. He has recently joined the Victory Road side from Bury Town. He left Canvey Island in November and joined Vanarama South side Chelmsford City before spending a short spell at Ram Meadow. 

The Suffolk side defended well, looked highly organised at the back and seemed determined to grind out a valuable three points in their race towards the play-off places. Substitute Darren Mills, who looked very lively and full of running when he came on for Sands on 65 minutes, scored a second goal in the 77th minute when he was first to the ball from a knock down after a corner. 

Both teams played some good football keeping possession well but it was Lesiton who were the more clinical. Their keeper Alex Rossis was in inspired form and made some great saves to keep a well deserved clean sheet.

The game marked (recent signing from Brimsdown) Leon Wilson's debut for the the Town first team in midfield and right-back Jordan Lockie's 200th appearance for the club. A fantastic achievement for a very popular player with the fans and players alike. He joins Rudi Hall, Mark Kirby, Dave Allen, Liam Hope, Andy Hall, Matt Negus and Paul Campbell in the Towner's 200 club. 

LFC's next league game is another away day trip to Grays Athletic next Saturday. Town's is a Jolly Boy's (and girls!!!) Day Out to Margate on the same day. The Gate drew 3-3 at Kingstonian yesterday, a result which puts a dent in their title challenge as leader's Maidstone United beat Billericay Town 3-0 at The Gallagher Stadium.
