KLM WELWYN HATFIELD SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2014/15

The new season for the Welwyn Hatfield Sunday Football League kicks off this Sunday 7th September. Like most Sunday league's in recent years the number of club's competing is well down on a few years ago. In 2009/10 there were a total of twenty-eight clubs and three divisions compared to just fifteen and two divisions for this campaign. The divisional line ups are as follows with club's twitter links shown as well -

PREMIER DIVISION
BRADMORE ROVERS - @BradmoreFc
EIGHT BELLS - @8bellsFC
HATFIELD SOCIAL SUNDAYS - @HatSocialFC
SHAMROCK ROVERS
STANBOROUGH OLD BOYS - @S_O_Bs
UNISON - @UnisonFC
WELWYN PIRATES - @WelwynPiratesFC

DIVISION ONE
HATFIELD CRICKET CLUB
HATFIELD SENIORS
HILLTOP TAXIS - @HilltopFC
KGV SENIORS
LIGHTNING FC
THE GROVE
THE ROSEY
WELWYN CAMPUS - @WelwynCampusFC

Last season's Premier Division Champions were "Sibthorpe Arms North Mymms" who have left the league. I'm unaware if they are playing this season. "Bradmore Rovers", were Division One champions and move up to the Premier Division along with "Eight Bells". The opening fixtures are as follows -

Sunday 7th September

Sunday 14th September

HATFIELD CRICKET CLUB v THE ROSEY - Hatfield Cricket Club
HATFIELD SENIORS v WELWYN CAMPUS - Stanborough
KGC SENIORS v HILLTOP TAXIS - King George V
THE GROVE v LIGHTNING FC - King George V

One of the most random results ever came last season when Welwyn Pirates and Shamrock Rovers drew 10-10 (yes that's right - TEN-TEN!!) in a game which I'm told saw a supporter score a goal which was allowed to stand. This sounds like proper football to me.

The Cold End did film one game last season which saw Welwyn Campus come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Eight Bells in the Division One Cup at Woolmer Green. Highlights of an eventful and entertaining match are below -

If your local to Welwyn or Hatfield why not take in a game if your free on a Sunday morning.
