The Hertsavers Hertfordshire Senior County League Premier Division 2014/15 season is now well under with every team playing seven games aside from Standon & Puckeridge and Cuffley. Standon are one of two teams without a win and if it's goals you want they are definitely worth a watch this season with an average of nearly 7 goals per game at the moment. They were involved in a 6-6 draw with Bushey Sports Club on Saturday 6th September. Hertford Heath are the other side without a victory and they have only scored three goals in their seven games - Their only point gained came in the 1-1 draw with Sarratt last Saturday.

At the top end of the division it's Belstone (last season's runner's up) that currently head the division with six wins in seven games. Last season's Division One champion's Hatfield Social are in second place and they are the only side without a defeat winning five and drawing two of their seven games. It's first v second at The Medburn Ground this coming Saturday when Social's unbeaten record will be sternly tested.

Bedmond Sports record in fifth place is an interesting one as their goal's conceded record reads 20 which is the fourth worst in the division. This is down to their 12-0 defeat at Whitwell (see report and highlights here) in August which they followed up with a 1-0 home victory over Belstone (the league leader's only defeat so far).

Goals conceded chart for season so far

Another interesting statistic is that Sandridge Rovers (third from bottom) have the seventh best defensive record conceded just ten goals of which three came in their 3-3 draw with Hatfield Social who have only let in five goals so far.

MERSON AND WILSHERE IN TOP THREE OF LEAGUE'S TOP SCORERS

The Premier Division top scorer's chart is headed by Letchworth's Sam Gittings on eleven goals followed by Tom Wilshere of Whitwell on eight. Ben Merson of Wormley Rovers is next on six goals followed by a clutch of players of five goals

The league's Aubery Cup starts on Saturday 27th September which is competed for by teams from both divisions and is looked forward to by every team in the league. Last season Premier Division Standon and Puckeridge won 4-0 against Divison One side Evergreen.

AUBERY CUP ROUND ONE

The game between Whitwell and Division One Old Parmiterians should be a good one as OP have won all four of their league games so far including a 11-1 and a 7-3 in their last two games.
