Enfield 1893 FC currently head the Essex Senior League with an impressive 100% winning record and a goal difference of +12 having let in just one goal so far. Great Wakering Rovers are not far behind them and also have a 100% winning record and only two goals conceded. So Saturday 28th September could see a really interesting game take place between the two early title contenders at Goldsdown Road. Prior to this game Rovers face Sawbridgeworth Town (currently 15th place) at home this Wednesday and Ilford (11th) away next Saturday whilst 1893 travel to Bowers and Pitsea (17th) a week on Tuesday.

London Bari still prop the table up with seven defeats from seven games and not one goal scored. They go to London APSA for a local derby game on Thursday evening.

The league has struggled to attract crowds over the past few years and this season is no different unfortunately. The highest crowd so far was 110 for the Mile End local derby between Sporting Bengal United and Tower Hamlets on Wednesday 28th August  and the lowest was just 10 at the Eton Manor v London APSA match on the same evening. Great Wakering Rovers currently have the highest average at 99 with Greenhouse London the lowest at 17.
FA CUP EXCITEMENT AT THE REAL WHITE HART LANE
Congratulations must go out to Haringey Borough who got through to the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup on Saturday with a 0-2 victory at Wembley thanks to two goals from right-back Charles Douse. It's the first time since 1993 that Borough have got through to this stage of the competition when they lost 1-3 at Hornchurch.

  1. Good article Mr End, agree that it's a real shame crowds are so sparse. I did my bit though, one of the 110 at Bengal v Tower Hamlets, where the view from behind the goals towards Canary Wharf is something to behold. Keep up the good work.
