EDMONTON AND DISTRICT SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE - 2013/14

The EDSFL was formed over eighty years ago in 1925. Back then Sunday football was not sanctioned by the Football Association so the league didn't become affiliated. It was only in 2004 that after years of independence the members voted to join The London Football Association.

All matches are played within the London Borough of Enfield mostly at Firs Farm, The Enfield Playing Fields, The Henry Barrass Stadium and the Church Street recreation ground in Edmonton.

Last season's Division One champions where Haringey Athletic who started off their 2013/14 league campaign last Sunday with a 2-4 victory over Southbury. They face Rio this Sunday who finished seventh last season. There is also an 'Enfield' derby in Divison Two as The Monarchs face Sporting on Pitch 9 at Firs Farm. The Henry Barrass Stadium sees Crescent host Wood Green in a Division Three game.

6.88 GOALS PER GAME!!

Out of the seventeen games played last weekend (I don't know the result of Brimsdown v Earlsmead at present so I haven't counted that one) there were an amazing 117 goals scored which works out at an average of 6.88 goals per game. Just three of the thirty-four teams playing failed to score and there was a 7-2, 3-9, 6-3, 3-7 and 3-8 amongst others so with so much debate around at present about the price of football why not pop along to watch a Sunday league game sometime soon as it's free!  The Cold End will certainly be doing so soon and hopefully capturing some highlights of some REAL football.
