CURLEY'S WURLY SHOT SCORES FOR THE URCHINS

AFC Hornchurch visited Donkey Lane on Tuesday evening and showed that they are genuine contenders for a play-off place and possibly will be involved in the title race towards the end of the season. They looked a highly organised side in defence and midfield that are tough to beat and dangerous in the attack. Centre-Forward Stefan Payne (number 9 in the video) really looks a class act with a good touch and could easily play at a higher level than the Ryman Premier Division. It's no surprise to read Fulham signed him from Sutton United for a substantial fee in 2009 and that he has played for Gillingham and Aldershot Town in the football league as well as Ebbsfleet United and Macclesfield Town in the Conference Premier last season.

Midfielder Frankie Curley's shot from outside of the box flew over Noel Imber and dipped under the crossbar in the first half to make the half time score 0-1. Stefan Payne's fierce shot was too hot to handle for Imber in the second half made it 0-2. The Urchins also hit the cross-bar in the second half.

It was a real off night for the Town who were unable to trouble Hornchurch keeper Inigo Echepare in the second half which was delayed for around fifteen minutes following the floodlights going out.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS ARE BELOW inc both goals scored
