Harlow Town's 0-3 victory at Enfield Town really does give Leiston the upper hand in the title race. Leiston currently have 85 points with five games to play with Town only able to get to a possible points total of 92....if they win all their remaining games! Redbridge gained a highly creditable draw at Leiston on Saturday but fell further behind as The Hawks, Tilbury and Grays Athletic all won.

The 1-1 draw at Victory Road put a end to Leiston's ten game winning streak but extended their impressive unbeaten run to an amazing 25 games! Gray's victory at AFC Sudbury was a massive result in the race for the play-offs which opened up a six point gap between the two sides.

Tilbury bounced back from defeat to AFC Sudbury last weekend to record a decent 0-2 victory at Heybridge Swifts to keep them in fifth place above The Hawks.

This coming Saturday sees some massive games take place in the race for the title and the play-offs. Table topper's Leiston travel to Tilbury (5th place), Enfield Town (2nd) go to Needham Market (3rd) and AFC Sudbury (7th) go to Harlow Town (6th) where a defeat for the Suffolk side would probably put an end to their play off hopes.

The result of the game at Bloomfields could have a big influence on who finishes second in the league and therefore gains what could be crucial home advantage in both play off games.... should they, of course, win the first one.

Grays Athletic, who are bang in form, with six wins on the trot welcome Chatham Town to Rookery Hill.

At present there are many permutations that could happen in regards to the final league placings. Such as, defeat for Enfield Town at Needham Market and a win for Leiston at Tilbury would mean the table toppers could seal the title with a home over Needham Market on Bank Holiday Monday. On the other hand (something the cold end as an Enfield Town fan wouldn't mind seeing) two wins  on the trot for Enfield Town on Saturday at Needham Market and on Monday at home to Waltham Abbey combined with Leiston losing at Tilbury and at home to Needham would see the title race really go down to the wire!!
