THE COLD END LOCAL GAMES OF THE WEEKEND

Eagle eye cold end readers will have noticed the mistake I made in last weekend's Hertfordshire Senior County League "game of the weekend" actually takes place on Saturday so we'll stick with the Metropolitan Police Bushey v Cuffley match again as below.

Hertfordshire Senior County League
Premier Division
Metropolitan Police (Bushey) v Cuffley

Thirteenth placed Cuffley make the trip to top of the table Met Police on the back of three league defeats against Wormley Rovers, Hinton and Codicote. The two sides met in the Anagram Records Trophy on Saturday 19th November which ended 1-1 and went to penalty kicks which the Met won 3-2. The league game between the two on the 3rd September was a close one too which Cuffley lost 1-2 at the King George V Playing Fields. Can Cuffley inflict the first defeat on the table toppers?? The Police need to keep winning with Baldock Town in 2nd place with games in hand.

Spartan South Midlands League
Division Two
Bletchley Town v MK Wanderers

As usual, their are plenty of good games in the SSML this weekend but the cold end is going for a local derby clash in Division Two between 9th placed (of 14) Bletchley Town and MK Wanderers (14th). The Wanderers are without a win in seven league games but only narrowly lost to THE 61 FC (Luton) in their last game on the 17th December. Last season's derby games drew crowds of 39 at MK Wanderers when Bletchley won 2-3 and 35 in the return game which The Gladiators won 7-0. On form Bletchley should win this game but in local derby games anything could happen??

Essex Senior League
Sporting Bengal United v Bethnal Green United

More local derby action in the ESL as the two team's who currently share The Mile End Stadium face each other for the third time this season. Bethnal Green have won both games so far - in the league 2-1 and in the last round of the FA Vase by 5-2. SBU had a great result last weekend by drawing 0-0 at Enfield 1893 and Bethnal Green won narrowly 2-1 against another local team, Clapton, on Wednesday night.

Middlesex Senior County League
Premier Divsion
Interwood v Southall

Runaway leader's Interwood welcome 4th placed Southall. Since the two clubs met on Saturday 1st October, when Interwood won 2-3, Southall have won five games and drawn one. Interwood have won seven and lost one. Their defeat, against FC Romania (0-1) on Saturday 17th December, was their first loss of the season.  Definitely an excellent game in prospect where East plays West London at Wadham Lodge.
