THE COLD END LOCAL GAMES OF THE WEEKEND

Welcome to a new feature on the cold end called 'local games of the weekend'. Here, the cold end will take you away from the Ryman League and list you the games of the day in the four leagues at Step 5 and below in the local area close to Enfield. They are The Spartan South Midlands League, Essex Senior League, Hertfordshire Senior County League and the Middlesex County League

Here are this Saturday's cold end games of the day -

Metropolitan Police (Bushey) v Cuffley
Hertfordshire Senior County League Premier Division

Thirteenth placed Cuffley make the trip to top of the table Met Police on the back of three league defeats against Wormley Rovers, Hinton and Codicote. The two sides met in the Anagram Records Trophy on Saturday 19th November which ended 1-1 and went to penalty kicks which the Met won 3-2. The league game between the two on the 3rd September was a close one too which Cuffley lost 1-2 at the King George V Playing Fields. Can Cuffley inflict the first defeat on the table toppers??  The Police need to keep winning with Baldock Town in 2nd place with games in hand.

Royston Town v Leverstock Green
Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division

Top of the table versus fifth place at Garden Walk. The Crows, after a blip of two defeats to AFC Dunstable and Stotfold, have got back to winning ways in their last three games. Biggleswade United were thrashed 7-0 on Bank Holiday Monday. Levvy made a great start to the season but the wheels have fallen off somewhat over the last few months with seven defeats in their last thirteen games. The table toppers should win this game but Levvy are a dangerous side so could spring a surprise.
St Johns DFC v Kilburn
Middlesex County League Division One

St Johns Deaf FC, who have only played eight league games so far, welcome current leader's Kilburn FC to The Walker Ground in Southgate. The home side are currently on 16 points from 8 games with Kilburn on 28 points from 11 games so this is a very important game for both clubs. The two sides met on Saturday 17th September where Kilburn won what sounds like a classic encounter 5-4. That game was played in the shadow of the National Stadium at The Ark Academy in Wembley where Kilburn currently play their home games.

Sawbridgeworth Town v Southend Manor
Essex Senior League

Prior to the ESL's Christmas break Sawbo loss 3-2 at Southend's Southchurch Park which was their first defeat in eight games where their form read WWWWWWDL during which time they scored 25 goals. In their first 10 league games Sawbo only won once in the 3-6 victory at Clapton.  Manor need to keep winning to maintain their title challenge alongside Witham Town and Enfield 1893 FC. Manor go to Goldsdown Road on Tuesday night to play 1893 who face mid-table Sporting Bengal United tomorrow afternoon. The midweek game is certainly one of the most anticipated games of the ESL season so far.

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE - CURRENT TABLE - TOP THREE ONLY
                    P  W  D  L  GF  GA  GD  PTS
1. WITHAM TOWN 18 13 4 1 54 15 +39 43
2. SOUTHEND MANOR 17 13 3 1 44 19 +25 42
3. ENFIELD 1893 FC 16 12 3 1 34 12 +22 39

The above table shows how close the battle for the title in the ESL is and how important Tuesday's 1893 v Southend Manor game will be.
