AWAYDAY IN ESSEX THIS AFTERNOON

Enfield Town make the trip to The Mill Field ground this afternoon to face Romford in an important Ryman Division One (North) fixture. Romford made a great start to the season and were looking odds on for a play off place but a record of five wins in fifteen games after the turn of the year have seen them drop down into the clutch of teams including Enfield Town now fighting for a top five finish.

The Boro drew 3-3 with Ilford on Tuesday night in a game the Foxes were 1-3 up in at Mill Field. It was the first time Ilford have scored 3 or more goals in a league game since they won 6-1 at home to Potters Bar Town on the 5th April 2010. Troy Hewitt now at Queens Park Rangers via Harrow Borough scored a hat-trick in that game.

The cold end loves a random football fact - not many people know that you have to go back over four years ago to the 9th January 2007 when Ilford scored three or more goals away from home in a league match when they lost 6-3 at AFC Sudbury in the Ryman Division One (North).

Back to today's game and Romford have three games in hand over Enfield Town with only two points separating the two sides in fifth and ninth place in the league. From the below current record and current form table's you can see how close the teams respective records are and how important the result could be (seem to be saying that about every Enfield Town game of late??)
