A TROPHY TRIP TO TONBRIDGE FOR TOWN TO FACE THE ANGELS

The FA Trophy draw has been made and given Enfield Town a trip South into Kent to face Ryman Premier Division Tongbridge Angels. The Angels play at the Longmead Stadium and are managed by Tommy Warrilow whom joined the club during the 2007/08. Warrilow took over with the club languishing near the bottom of the Ryman Premier and took them to finish in eighth place narrowly missing out on a play off place. The following 2008/09 season saw a 3rd place finish and a defeat in the Semi-Final of the play offs to Carshalton Athletic. Last season the Angels narrowly missed out on a play off place finishing in 8th place.

The Angels had a nightmare start to this season winning just 2 of their first 8 league games as well as being dumped out of the FA Cup by Combined Counties Premier Division side Guildford City at Longmead Stadium. October has seen form pick up with five league and cup victories in row including a 7-1 thrashing at home versus AFC Hornchurch. To qualify for the 2nd QR they beat Concord Rangers 3-2 at home on Saturday. Last season they were narrowly beaten 2-3 by Blue Square South Welling United in the 3rd QR after beating Sutton United and Mertsham in earlier rounds.

Current top scorer is Frannie Collin with seven league goals with the Angels currently in eighth place just seven points behind table toppers Lowestoft Town.

Prior to the Trophy game scheduled on the 30th October they have two away league trips to Aveley on Saturday and Sutton United next Tuesday.

The ground is a approx 1.5 miles away from Tonbridge train station with a journey from London Bridge being roughly 40 minutes and 45 minutes from Charing Cross.

Most of the Angel's games are filmed and downloaded onto YOUTUBE. Highlights from the Concord Rangers game can be found HERE.
