HARLOW TOWN, ROMFORD & AFC SUDBURY MAKE HEADLINES FOR THE RYMAN NORTH

It was a great day for Town's fellow Ryman North teams in the FA Trophy with Harlow Town and AFC Sudbury both beating Ryman Premier teams to go through to the next round. The Hawks outplayed Carshalton Athletic at Barrows Field winning 2-0 and AFC Sudbury put in a storming performance by thrashing FA Cup heroes Hendon 5-1 in Suffolk. Romford also recorded a fantastic victory at AFC Totton who have been very strong at home up until yesterday. Thamesmead Town are also in the hat having drawn 0-0 at Folkestone Invicta with the replay this mid-week. Grays Athletic play Cinderford Town this afternoon.

In the league Town who were top prior to last Saturday's defeat are now in 9th place. How tight the league is this season in only underlined by the fact if we win on Tuesday night against in-form Potters Bar Town we could move level with the three teams currently on 24 points. Needham Market find themselves top due to their superior goal difference. It's an important game at Goldsdown Road as even the Scholars who are now level on points with Town can move level with the top teams who are now seperated only by the afformentioned goal-difference. Needham Market have games in hand over all their fellow challengers (four against W&F but only one over Town and Harlow Town) with their strength underlined by the fact the current top three league goalscorers all play for the Suffolk side. Craig Parker has 9, with Sam Newson and Nathan Stone on 7 goals each. Dan Forward, Mark Kirby and Rudi Hall represent Enfield Town on three goals each in the top-goalscorers table.
