On this day in....

1967
Enfield FC took on Wycombe Wanderers at Southbury Road in the Isthmian League. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Enfield were holders of the FA Amateur Cup at the time and went on the be crowned league champions this season.












1989

In Enfield's final season in the conference the club gained a rare victory away at Cherrywood Road. Enfield won 3-2 thanks to goals from Paul Harding, Nicky Francis and Paul Furlong. Crowd - 903.

2000
In the last season for the E's as we knew them, Jim Chandler took the team to Cherrywood Road to face Farnbrough Town who went on to be champions and gain promotion to the conference. The E's came away with a creditable point in a 1-1 draw thanks to an OG. 725 saw this game.

Team - Jerome John, Lee Harvey, Jay Devereux, Grant Cooper, Johnny Morgan, Wayne Brown, Dave McDonald, Kevin Rattray, James Bunn, Jason Geraghty, Dave Flemming. SUBS - Dominic Gentle, Danny Alleyne, and Ronnie Watson.

2005
Enfield Town entertained Waltham Forest on a Friday night Southern League Division One (East) fixture, A healthy crowd of 387 saw Town win 2-0 thanks to Rudi Hall and substitute Dean Nyman.
